The way of the Lord is for a family to live within the limit of the gospel. Your concern is how are you going to keep your children? How are you going to lead them so that your family will be intact, your family will stay as close together as it can be? There is no other way than the way of the Lord.
The way of the Lord is for a family to live within the limit of the gospel, within the perimeter of the gospel. Why do I say that? Because the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is not being taught in all religions in the world. You will find problems dealing with people or living in a country where the true gospel is not practiced.
And I know, this is very true in our situation, in our times. That's why as a father, you are concerned about your children. But the verse you have cited, trust in it.
The verse you have cited is psalm 103:17. You can pass it to your children unto the fourth generation and the fifth and so on. The fear of the Lord must be our way of life. The fear of the Lord means to obey his will. To keep his commandments is the real meaning of the fear of the Lord to which person the Lord shows mercy from everlasting to everlasting unto the children’s children. Let us read Ecclesiastes 12:13.
To fear morally, it means to revere to God, to have reference to God. Not fearing Him like fearing a lion or fearing Him like fearing other things that scare us.For example, you fear death, you fear beasts that may harm you. That is not the way to fear God.
To fear God is to revere Him, and that is by keeping his commandments. It is the only way to keep a family intact, a union intact, to keep the commandments of God.
Beginning from husband and wife, Romans 7:2 “Thus a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives…….”.
In conclusion, I want us to remember this, we have to live by the law, by the commandments, by the will, by the admonition of the Lord. Living within the law means a family of unity. You will be intact. There will be no broken families on earth if every family on the face of the earth will live within the law of God.
