Marriage is a basic necessity in life. We need marriage because we cannot live our lives and be sufficient on our own. We need helpers. The first and primary help that we can get is our marital partner. It was God himself who constituted marriage. He himself made it clear that it is not good for man to be alone. The man in this sense refers to both male and female. So, the architect of marital union had made this known by Himself. He said that it is not good for us to be alone. As a lady, I have need for a man to hold. In the same way, the brother needs a woman to hold. So we all need this help meet.
Where should we go and look for a partner to marry? Should it be in the club houses? No, we should not look for marital partners in such places as that. A wife is not every woman that we see on the road. Likewise, a husband is not every man that we see. So, we should look up to God to give us a partner that will make us live our lives and do the will of God.
The kind of wife or husband which God wants for us is a prudent one. God wants us to marry prudent partners. We are not to hook ourselves with worthless persons. We should pray to God when we want to get married. It is good that we allow God to lead us to the person who will make a good wife or husband to us.
