”Whoso findeth a wife hath found a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord.”
I have known this quote from the Holy book from my childhood days. It is a favorite passage when talking about marriage. By this the intending couples should be happy that the union in which they are going into will be a union that prospers their lives. We are not going into marriage with the intention of having any regrets whatsoever. Marriage is a blissful union. The institution was initiated by God to be a blessing to the existence of man. Man was to enjoy the union.
We all know that the institution of marriage is meant to be honorable and holy. We should uphold it that way. The Bible says that marriage is more honorable in all. This suggests that in all things that we get ourselves involved in, marriage is the most honourable. Marriage should be held in honour. There should not be any abuse about marriage. Couples must learn to uphold one another in honour. Such a marital union where honour and respect reigns is the one that God himself had built.
Proverbs 18:22 (KJV) Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
Proverbs 19:14 (KJV) House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
For our marriage to be built by God, we should seek our marital partners from God. It is not good that we are pairing up ourselves with people whom God has not approved for us. The right way to seek our partners is to ask it of the Lord. It is the Lord who gives a good and prudent wife.
