Keeping the family intact biblically (Part 1 of 3) | The Old Path

Bible references: Psalms 103:17, Ecclesiastes 13, Romans 7:2

As a family, the best way to live is in the way of the Lord. You do so by keeping and observing His ordinances. In order for a family to remain intact, it needs the hand of God upon them. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ should be embedded in their hearts.

Families that don't observe and regard the Gospel of Christ are most likely to experience problems. Observing the gospel shapes one's life. Then imagine a family whose lives revolves around the gospel of Christ, such family can hardly be torn apart.

Psalms 103:17 - But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children.

Parents equally contribute to the passing down of the gospel to children. Parents also have a role to play in shaping the lives of their children to ensure that their lives are lived in accordance with the gospel. By doing so, there's every possibility that your children will pass it down to their own kids as well, and that is how the gospel gets passed down to generations.

One of the most important things that should not be found missing in a family is the fear of God. Having the fear of God doesn't require you to be terrified. The fear in this aspect is reverential. It simply means having reverence for God, regarding Him and keeping his commandments.
