Old path – bible exposition of 09 Jan 22

The exposition was able to clear some doubt in the mind of believers and help to maintain stability in of the biblical faith. Bro Eli started with introducing the program. He said that morality has gone down so much in our society and wickedness such as fighting deception fighting is at its worst. The world itself is not wicked but the people in the world makes it wicked. Nowadays you people fight over earthly things forgetting that the earthly things will surely end. A lot of people feels that they have power but power no matter how powerful will sure end.
The primary doctrine is the love of God, yourself and your fellow man. (mt 22vs 37)Nowadays no love for fellow man and we don’t mind the suffering of people. The rich are greedy and still want to get from the poor. 2 Tim 3 says for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. These are the things that would make the times perilous and not time itself. It is man who makes man wicked, the environment becomes bad because of the evil of men. We having global warming because of the greed of men.
Therefore the intention of Bro Eli through the word exposition is to bring back what was lost, and to clear doubt. Man have lost the desire for sound doctrine and buried in so many sin like adultery stealing etc.
John 3 vs 19 describes man to love darkness than light because the days are evil.
There is a solution in the Bible and that the essence of finding the old path.

1. Question: who are the founder of the church of God?
   Answer: Brother Eli responded that the founder of the church is God himself. We do not have any authority to establish a church on earth. psm 127 vs 1 it is only the Lord who has the capacity to build a church. The church is the house that can only God can build. Heb 3 vs 1-4 the house of God God is not the physical structure, no the chapel nor the cathedral but the house is the people of God. A lot of people has been accustomed that a man is the founder of the church. We must know that the true church is not founded by any man but God unlike the claim of the seven days Adventist church that church is found by a woman Ellen G. Anybody who will build the church or found the church is setting Christ at naught (Act 4 vs 11).
   Building or founding another church other than that which has been built already means you are rejecting the corner stone 1 pet 2 vs 7. The church was found by the lord and built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. Bro Eli says, he is preaching the teaching of the bible and not the founder as instructed by (Matthew 28 vs 19); Col 1 vs 6 says Christ is head of the church
   The Roman Catholic Church is founded by the Roman fathers and they insinuate to bowing down to images. Apostle Paul speaking to the first century Christian does not regard image to be bow to. You can only be part of the true church and heir of the kingdom by the gospel. (Act 17 v 29)

My comment: I understand the side of Brother Eli but I think there is more to be understood about the founding a church. We must understand that the difference between founding the Church and heading a Ministry. True the foundation of the Church is Jesus Christ but there are mandate given to certain people by through the calling of God upon their lives just like in the case of Jer 1 vs 5. Men are regarded as founder or president because of the earthly administrative purpose. I think it is only when your calling or mandate is not in accordance to the foundation of Jesus Christ that when it is faulty.

1. Question 2: I am 40 years and searching, where will I get the key to the gate of Heaven
   Answer: bro Eli replied that he is thinking of material things than the spiritual significance. Bro Eli says his thought is like that of Nicodemus john 3 vs 3 , the understanding of Nicodemus was that it was through his mother that his mother he can be born again. Eph 1 vs 23, makes us to understand that the word of god is powerful for men to be born again because the word of God is like a womb; it forms and shapes a man .
   It means putting a way everything that is in opposition to the doctrine. Eph 4 vs 28 -28 makes us understand that what changes you is the word of God; you are moulded into a new being.
   Eph 2 vs 24, drinking gambling, womanizing is gone because the word of God has given birth to you.
   I learnt that we shouldn’t interpret the word of god by our Head knowledge. Just like what we use to know is that a woman gives birth except the sea horse where the male sea horse gives birth. Eve came from Adam Ribs. Gen 2vs 21 others came from the belle of the woman. John 38 vs 29 everything that happens with a reason both spiritually and scientifically.

Comment: the person who asked that question was seeking for a key and Bro Eli answer didn’t give a straight answer. The only key is to be born again and been born again is to be born of the spirit by the renewing of the mind through the word of God

1. Question: what is the best way to break away from a wrong relationship?
   Answers bro Eli said there are many things involved in that. For instances if you have a partner who is somebody’s wife, you should break it. Matthew 14 vs 4
   For the mere fact that you know that you are into a wrong relationship you should break it. Lev 20 vs 14. However if the relationship bears fruit, then you must take responsibilities 1tim 5 vs 8.
   There are circumstances that must be considered. Before you cut such relationship.
   My comment: I think the person who asked the question already know it is wrong and how it should be broken is the challenge. Bro Eli couldn’t point out how. How means procedure, the way out.
   Now I think the way out is for you to first is to repent, then take responsibility if there is child however you must cut ties so that you won’t go back to your vomit (pro 6 vs 22), remove everything such as music, pictures that could remind you of the wrong partner. Renew your mind by the word always.
