He Left Us The Example Of Obedience
That was what our Lord Jesus Christ did when He went down to Jordan to be baptized by John. What he showed us was that we should be obedient. We should follow his example and be obedient to the doctrines and ordinances of God. We should not argue with the precepts of the church. We should not be stiff necked like the Israelites were. We should not be rebellious like many people are. We should be obedient to the commandments of God. Our Lord and Savior showed us an example of how we should be obedient.
As the followers of Jesus Christ, we shall need to be obedient to God. The Master obeyed the same doctrines which he came to establish. Should we ourselves not obey? He made us to see that the doctrines were not grievous. He made us to see that what he wanted us to do was not out of place. He showed us that he is a high priest who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. He is good and understanding.
We must obey the doctrine. Baptism is one of the doctrine in the Bible. The church is to observe that. We are the disciples and we must submit ourselves to follow the doctrines of Jesus Christ. We cannot claim that we are his followers and then refuse to obey the commandments of God. As is disciples, we must obey all the commandments of God including baptism.
