Bible study with Brother Eli on 7th January 2022

Cavalry Greetings everyone, thanks be to God. I always look forward to explaining what we discussed in the Bible study according to my understanding in this platform of people with common interest.
Today we looked at Why did God put lying Spirit on the prophets?1kings22:23, Jeremiah 23:14. God was not pleased with the prophets in Jerusalem. They were working in lies. Jeremiah 23:21. They didn't have the desire to change or show remorse. God also saw that they didn't have the desire to be good prophets. He even did everything to ensure that his prophets were saved but they didn't have the desire.
2tess2:10,isa5:20. Here they called evil good and good evil, just to ensure that they continue in their evil ways.for the evil are proud while the righteous are oppressed 2 tes2:10-11.God gave them the spirit of lying since they didn't want to change.
We also looked at the controversy of Abram offering the spoils to melchizadek the high priest
The Atheist. Believe that they were stolen things but during the study we discovered that spoil here refers to Recovered items of the isrealites especially having worked without wages were they were treated as slaves. Exodus 12:35. Another controversy we looked at was Rahab and the lies she told to save the spies and was justified by God. We looked at this as using common sense which is not common and a lesser evil having to save lives. We also looked at the controversial Colt that was used to ride into Jerusalem by Jesus, that wasn't his. But we understood that the earth is the Lord's and it's fullness thereof. Meanwhile the Colt was given freely by the owner when he was told that the master had need of it. Meanwhile Christ riding on the Colt signified peace not war. He chose a Colt instead of a horse which signifies war.
I know this write up has been quite expository and full of insight. Yes this what we enjoy in our Bible study classes. Things you ordinarily wouldn't have answer for are deeply explained with biblical examples and texts. I must also admit that prior to this Time, I read my Bible but I have not been able to understand fully some mysteries until now. Please Don't forget to join us next Bible study.
