Greetings!
According to Bro. Eli in his biblical teaching, the Sabbath day is not the seventh day, but another day.
Apostle Paul speaking to the original sabbath observers, the Hebrew said, the sabbath as being taught by Joshua and Moses was not the same as the sabbath he's talking about which is another day.
Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
The above scriptural verse is the testament to what apostle Paul told the original sabbath keepers. which are the Hebrews.
So, here apostle Paul was telling them that God was talking about another day, but not the same has been told by Moses and Joshua in the old testament.
Furthermore, our Lord Jesus Christ did not also practice the said sabbath day as being taught by Moses and Joshua.
John 5:16-18 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Therefore the Jews sought the most to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
In the above verses, we can see Jesus not observing the sabbath and as a result, the Jews who were ignorant of the scripture sought to kill him.
Bro. Eli made us understand through the scripture that the observers of the sabbath were no longer in existence when Jesus came into the world and this can be seen in the scripture below.
Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
With what the scripture above is telling us, we were made to understand that since there's a change in the priesthood heralded by Jesus Christ then there's also a necessity in the change of the law.
In conclusion, since there's a change in the priesthood of Moses to now Jesus Christ, then the law has also changed from the law of Moses to that of Christ Jesus and that law that we must now obey is the law of Jesus Christ and not anymore the law of Moses.
