Greetings!
To do the will of God is to obey his commandments as his will is in his commandments. So, for us to do according to his will for our lives, we have to obey his commandments.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
In the above scriptural verse, we were being told to fear God and keep his commandments as this is our duty as a man. So, for us to do the will of God, we must fear him and obey his commandments, as his commandments are his will.
Psalms 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
The psalmist in the above scripture says, he delight to do the will of God and that the will of God is within his heart, which means, the law of God is the will of God and we it must be kept in our heart and strictly obey if we want to do his will.
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Jesus Christ is telling the disciples in the scriptural verse above to teach the nations of the world as he had commanded which means, when we observe and abide by his law, then we will move close to him and also be under his care, even unto the end of the world.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
In order for us to reach the kingdom of heaven, we must do the will of God, the scripture in Matthew 7:21 has said all above those who will enter into the kingdom of heaven and according to the scriptural verse above, it's only those who do the will of God that will enter kingdom of heaven.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
The above verse of the scripture is very simple, Jesus Christ in this one is saying that, if a man love him, he will keep his words, which means he will obey his law and commandments and now he assures such a man if his father loving him in return.
In conclusion, Bro. Eli said if we want to obey the will of God, we must follow his commandments which is our duty as humans.
