The marriage is a lovely aspect of the plan of God. During the review of the topic on seeking a wife in the MCGI, I was able to know that it is not only about the feelings or being attracted to the partner, but rather seeking the counsel of God and walking in the wisdom of God.
According to the Bible, he who finds a wife finds what is good and finds favor with the Lord (Proverbs 18: 22). This teaches us that a wife is indeed a Godsend and one should find her with love and prayer.
I came to know that one needs to be patient in finding a wife. It is simple to hurry or make a choice according to our emotions but God desires that we select someone with whom we share our faith and values.
The verse 2 Corinthians 6:14 has reminded me not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers since I found that my spouse must be able to develop with me spiritually. Mutual love, respect and devotion to God are the key to building the strong marriage.
The significance of preparation is another thing I also learned during the review. I need to mature more in my personality and learn patience and enhance my relationship with God before going out in search of a wife. My advice is to guard your heart above all and everything you do is an extension of your heart (Proverbs 4: 23).
Lastly, I understood that a search of a wife does not only concern personal happiness but also the fulfillment of the purpose of God. I also learned to pray with heart and seek the guidance of God and have trust in his timing. I also realized that a godly wife is one who shall be a companion in life, faith and service to God.
To sum up, the MCGI topic review helped me to understand that the process of finding a wife is a religious one. It is concerning patience, praying, preparation, and relying in the wisdom of God. I would like to pursue such teachings in good faith as I gird myself in the perfect plan of God in marriage.
