The issue of knowing the future is an issue that most individuals would want to know. This is a topic that is approached with a lot of caution and humility in MCGI teachings. The Bible clearly shows that it is only God who knows when the future comes.
The works of God are known to him since the beginning of the world (Acts 15:18). This indicates that it is only God who knows everything that will happen in the future and human beings should trust Him and not guess.
The bible too cautions believers against being deceived by fictional promises regarding the future. A lot of individuals say that they can see tomorrow but they are not talking about God. The word of God states that one should not believe every spirit, but he should test the spirits to know whether they are in God or not (1 John 4:1). At MCGI, there is an emphasis of verifying all the teachings using the Scriptures. I have found out that it is better to know the truth rather than be enthusiastic about forecasts.
It is true that God occasionally shows a portion of the future, however, it is based upon His will and purpose. This is done to control His people, and not to amuse them. Do you think that the Lord God can leave it alone, but he discloses his secret to his servants the prophets (Amos 3:7). This teaches me that genuine revelation will never contradict Gods word and it will result in righteousness, rather than fear and pride.
Christians are not supposed to look too far into the future, but rather make their hearts ready right now. Jesus said, Take therefore no thought into the morrow (Matthew 6:34). To my mind this implies that we should be faithful, keep the commandments of God, and leave our future to Him.
Finally, MCGI explains that obedience to God should never be substituted with an understanding of the future. The Bible is our safest guide. Once we put our faith into God and His word, the future is already safe in the right hands.
God bless his word
Amen
