Keeping the family intact biblically (Part 3 of 3) | The Old Path

Scriptures: 1 Peter 1:17

The ability of keeping the family intact is not all that easy. There are families that along the line scattered due to one issue or the other. These families do not communicate well among themselves. I had a colleague in a place I worked before who does not get along with his younger brother.

Most of the time he narrates the ordeal he keeps having with his brother at home. There are many other families facing this situation. Some families have conflict between the Father and the children, some have conflict between both parents, and so on. Parents may try their possible best to keep the family together but their efforts may not be enough.

Brother Eli provides us with a guaranteed by which we can keep our family intact. The best way for a family to remain together is when they allow the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ plan the order of their lives. So many families are unaware of this and that is why some of them are no longer together again.

As a family, it is very important that everyone has a common belief. And not just any belief but the belief of the gospel and the one that is behind it, which is our Lord Jesus Christ. The matter of belief in a family is a very crucial one. It is the paramount requirement for really maintaining the unity of a family.

Many people feel that it has to do with luxuries, riches, and maybe education. Depending on these factors and believe that you have the assurance of your family remaining together because of them could leave you disappointed in the future. There's no doubt that all these things are necessary in the family.

However, when it comes to keeping the family, it requires much more than these things. We need to make the gospel the basic thing by which we live by. We need to ensure that our lives revolve around the gospel. The teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect guide needed for the unity of a family and other aspects in our lives as well.

Walking in our own ways will not do much good for us. A lot of families did things their own way neglecting what Jesus' ways and doctrines. This gave the enemy, Satan, the opportunity to leverage on them by bringing confusion and disunity among them. This is the reason why many families are not together anymore.
