Today's teaches focuses the union between a husband and the wife and the individual roles that they are expected to play in their marriage. By God's design, the man is meant to be the head of the family; just as Jesus is the Head of the church. It is important that a couple commit to one another for an effective marriage.
By the reason of marriage, both the man and the woman lose possession over their bodies. When being brought together as husband and wife they are not to deny their partner access to their bodies.
1 Corinthians 7.4 - The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
This is also applicable to everything that belongs to them individually. Whatever belongs to the man; be it material possession or otherwise, now belongs to the woman. Likewise, whatever belongs to the woman also belongs to the man.
A couple is not supposed to keep anything from each other, this is according to God's law. By the virtue of they're union they become one. So therefore, maximum cooperation between them is very necessary.
