Lesson learnt from today's Mass indoctrination with brother Eli
I learnt that we should not pass unto others to pray for us but rather we should pray for ourselves.
Philippines 4:6, I learnt that we should be careful for nothing but in every thing by prayer and supplication, and also let our request be made known to God. In Matthew 6:8, the bible says that God knows what our hearts needed even before we ask him, i learnt that we should not use repetitive word when praying that the lord is not deaf that he can not hear us, we are advised to go straight to the point and make our prayers to God for he knows our hearts.
Mathew 15:36, in this verse it shows that God prays even when eating, so when ever we are eating we should pray to God and thank him for his provisions.
when should we pray
1 Thessalonians 5:17, says pray without ceasing. I understand here that we should pray at all time, whether in difficulty and in comfort times, sometimes we pray only when we are Sick, having some problems or difficulty but when things are better we forgot about prayer, in 2 Timothy 1:3, upon waking up in the morning we should pray, also during the day we should pray, at night when we are about sleep we should also pray, and thank him for all his provisions during the day and ask for protection as we are about to sleep.
2 Timothy 2:22, I learnt that we should flee from youthful lust, and follow righteousness, peace, and faith, with those that call on the lord with pure heart.
1 Peter 3:12, I learnt that the eyes of God are over the righteous and his ear are open to their prayers, but his face is against them that do evil.
Proverbs 15:8, I learnt that the prayer of the wicked is an abomination to the lord. If we are calling on God and our hearts is filthy God will not hear us, it is necessary that our heart is void of offences toward God and also toward our fellow brethren.
Mathew 15:19, out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, e.g lies, murder, idolatry the bible said that this are the things that defiles the heart of man.
1 Peter 3:7,if a man is cruel to his wife his prayer will not be answered so also the wife, the man should give honour to his wife, and the wife should be faithful to the husband. God can see all of our heart, if we have a wicked heart God will not listen to us, in John 9:31, God does not listen to the prayer of a sinner, but listen to the man that have a pure heart.
For God to answer our prayer we must repent from our sin and turn away from all evil.
Act 22:16, I learnt that in baptism our sins are forgiven, and if we pray to God he will answer us.
John 15:3, what will clean our heart is the word of God. The word of God purifies but for it to purifies us we must let it stay in our heart.
Mathew 12:34, for the aboundance of the heart the mouth speaketh, I learnt that when the heart is evil what will come out from it will be evil as well, also when the heart is pure what comes out is also . It is the tongue that defiles the whole body, the bible calls it an unruly evil full of deadly poison, I also learn that we should not swear neither by heaven or earth, proverb 31:26, say we should open our mouth with wisdom, also exedus 20:7, the bible tells us not to take the name of our lord God in vain.

Thanks be to God for listening on our meeting.

II CORINTHIANS 4:18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Thank you sister for sharing such a detailed lesson on when we should pray as taught by bro Eli.
