People often think that salvation is a religious affair. However, after studying the Bible and examining it carefully, I found out that salvation is not about going to a denomination, attending services and attaining a religious title. Salvation deals with the relation to God through Jesus Christ.
Religion gives structure. It instills values, unites us together and gives us spiritually progress but religion alone will not save anybody. The Pharisees in the Bible were so much religious but Jesus condemned them as their hearts were not close to God, they followed regulations and did not have faith and true love. This explains that empty religion is a religion without a changed heart.
The Bible is very clear on this, it instructs you to "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved". It did not say become a member of this or that church, or observe some religious activities.
Grace is a blessing that brings salvation, which is not attained through religious practices or humanistic efforts. Religion may lead us to God, but only Jesus can save us.
It takes real repentance to belief in Jesus Christ and have a personal walk with God. Religion is significant when it makes us grow. God will not require us to present our church membership card, He will examine our hearts and whether we have embraced His Son.
Salvation is not religion, it is about Jesus.
