Here is the summary of the lessons learned from Bro Eli
There are works that God entrusted to you
Isaiah 28:13 KJV
But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
What is happening in the church now according to Prophet Isaiah is that the word of God is just precept upon precept, line upon line is to the church.
There are two tables to eat at. The Lord's table and the devil's table.
I Corinthians 10:21 KJV
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Christ has a table where he feeds his own people and so likewise the devil.
Are all the good things commanded/assigned by God?
Philemon 1:21 KJV
Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
In the try church, the children of God are being guided by the Holy Spirit. Not everything will be instructed, there are things you will do voluntarily even when you're not told to do so.
Isaiah 1:19 KJV
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
Willingness has a wonderful reward. Your obedient should be adjoined with willingness.
What are things to be done voluntarily?
Numbers 30:2 KJV
If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
A vow is done voluntarily without it being dictated unto you. You impose an obligation on yourself. That's a vow.
Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 KJV
4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
II Corinthians 9:7 KJV
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Like the 10%, it is not in the doctrine of Christ. Giving contribution must be according to your conscience.
II Corinthians 8:13 KJV
For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
You are to decide how much you are to give. In the true church, there is no fixed price. It is you that will decide how much to give.
Thanksgiving is a vow offered to God. God did not command us to offer Thanksgiving it is up to you to do it voluntarily because he has favored you.
Hebrews 13:15-16 KJV
15 For him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
The sacrifice of praise is thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, contribution, and good works should all be done willingly.
