Above all, the primary thing is to love. The first one to whom you are to devote your love is to God and the second is to our fellow men.
Love should also be extended to our enemy, it is not only limited to brethren.

How do we love our enemy

Matthew 5:45 KJV
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Loving our enemies will make us like our father in heaven. God loves all men, even those that do not acknowledge Him. It is a commandment to love our enemies
Luke 6:35 KJV
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
God love even those who are u thankful and evil. The good we do to our brethren is the good we should do to our enemy.
Romans 12:20 KJV
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
God commanded us to love our enemies because he wants those that are evil to be saved.

I Corinthians 9:20-22 KJV
20 KJV:And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 KJV:To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 KJV:To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might, by all means, save some.
You're not to exclude anyone when it comes to doing good. The purpose of loving our fellow men is to bring them to Christ so they can be saved.
I Timothy 2:4 KJV
Who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
It is the will of God for all men to be saved.

What is the good we are to do to all men?

Galatians 6:10 KJV
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
The good God wants us to do is the law. And the law is to feed the hungry, give to the needy, forgive others, not be selfish, be merciful to all.

Matthew 6:14 KJV
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
It is an obligation in the Church to forgive one another. It is prohibited to file charges to court against one another.
I Corinthians 6:4-6 KJV
4. If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6. But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
