The lord jesus christ touched the eyes of the man for the second time because he is trying to let the eyes adapt into the situation.
That is the wisdom there is in Mark 8 verse 22,23,24,25, 26 which says,
And he cometh to bethsaida, and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
Verse 23 says, And he took the blind man by the hand, and left him out of the town, and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw aught.
24, and he look up and said,i see men as trees, walking.
25 says, after that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26, and he sent him to his house, saying either go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.
The eye is an organ that receives light after so much time that it was blindfolded by the bandage, you must not allow at once the light to come very rapidly. Why? You might be destroying the eyes again. It must be done slowly that is the wisdom there. The lord jesus christ did not once let the eyes see it clearly as can be but on the second touch of his hand, the person has clearly seen every man. The wisdom is that, to protect the eye which is restored by allowing a slow entrance of light.
You see our eyes receive light. It's a pupil that closes or makes the opening a little wider at times. If you are going to let a person that had been blind for sometime, and was blindfolded by the bandage of the operation in the eye. If someone is accustomed to the darkness you can perceive or can see even in darkness, in small light. From darkness, then go to a very well lighted place, then the pupil will be the opening of the lens, just like the camera will be smaller and it will hurt the eyes.
This is what the lord jesus christ has done to the blind man. The first opening of the eye, he can see men just like trees walking.
So he touched again, he closed the eyes of the man and on the second touch, after that he removed his hands, and gradually the men had seen the men clearly in Mark 8 verse 25.
That's why He is called Jehovah Rapha; the One who healeth
