Obedience can be seen as an act of compliance to some particular rules and regulations either given by an older or younger person. In the Bible, we can say obedience is hearing the words of God and doing what he says we should do.
As said in one of the ten commandments, Honor your father and your mother.
Do you know that one of the best forms of honoring your parents is by being obedient to them?
Let’s take an instance from the Bible. In the story of Moses, God lifted Moses up by making him the one to save the Isrealites from the sufferings of King Pharaoh. The were able to escape the red sea and every soldiers of Pharaoh died in the sea.
Then the Israelites were thirsty and there was no water to drink and God instructed Moses to use his rod to divide the rock. Truly, he did so but made sure that people stopped believing in God and made them feel that he performed that magic. Did God ask him to do that? No!
That’s why Moses and Aaron didn’t get to the promise land.
God has a plan for everyone of us. Our altitude is going to be our promise land and if we disobey God, we won’t get to the promise land. It costs us nothing to be obedient to the pne who created us.
Let’s be obedient!
Psalm 119:5 “Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!”
