Baptism is not like Holy Communion. We can take Holy Communion many times as long as it is offered. But with baptism, we do not do that. We are to take baptism whenever we have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and have given our hearts to serve the Lord and to obey His commandments. We should not be rebaptized several times. There is no need for such. All a person needs is to believe in Jesus Christ and obey His commandments. When you have accepted Christ into your heart, you must be baptized.
I used the word ‘must’ because many people think that water baptism is not necessary. Water baptism is a necessity for everyone who wants to accept the doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded this. He is the one who ordered it. There are several doctrines in the church these days. Different church leaders and teachers are introducing several kinds of teachings and doctrinal concepts in the church. So, many churches have different belief systems as if we are serving different kinds of God.
Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
We are to obey the fundamental doctrines which the Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles established. We should follow those things which were given to us. We should be obedient children of God. We should be true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let everyone of us who are believers, who have not taken water baptism, do so.
