Greetings everyone, I welcome you all to my blog.
It's another great day to listen to the word of God by his servant Bro Eli Soriano
Our Lord Jesus Christ has revealed to us that true peace can be found only in Him. In this sinful and troubled world, genuine peace does not exist apart from Christ.
As written in John 16:33, Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Through this verse, Jesus prepares us to understand that trials and difficulties are unavoidable in a world filled with wickedness. However, He also reassures us that despite these challenges, we can experience peace through Him because He has already conquered the world.
The book of Isaiah further supports this truth. In Isaiah 57:19–21, the Lord declares peace to those who are near and far and promises healing to them. Yet, He also makes it clear that the wicked are like a restless sea that cannot be calm, continually producing turmoil and impurity. God plainly states that there is no peace for the wicked.
Jesus Christ therefore teaches and represents true peace. He makes it known that peace is not meant for the wicked, but for those who accept Him and walk in righteousness. Those who embrace Christ will experience His peace even while living in a corrupt world.
In 2 Peter 2:7, we see how righteous Lot was deeply distressed by the immoral behavior of the wicked people around him. This passage reminds us how dangerous it is to dwell among wickedness, as seen in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, where Lot was continually troubled by their sinful ways.
In conclusion, 1 John 2:15–16 warns us not to love the world or the things in it. Anyone who loves the world cannot truly love the Father, because worldly desires such as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life do not come from God but from the world.
We are therefore instructed not to set our hearts on worldly things, because doing so separates us from the love of the Father. The world is filled with sinful desires, but true peace and fulfillment are found only in God.
