How do we overcome addiction in life?

With the scripture telling us that in that kind of situation we are meant to surrender to God Almighty, on the other hand, I was taught that fighting it with our own strength can actually lead to failure, which is accompanied by struggle, so therefore, in such a situation, there is a need to call upon God even in our weakness, because remaining in our pride retains us in the situation and bondage as well.

So with this opportunity, I call upon my fellow brethren to be humble and be free in serving our almighty father, who gave us the grace to leverage. So one thing that we must do is that we ought to admit first before soliciting his help, so remember that victory begins with surrender.
