LESSONS LEARNED:
THE APPAREL COMMANDED BY GOD FOR THE OUTWARD AND INNER MAN.
Bro Eli noted that the inner man is our spirit beings, which is renewed daily, while the outward man is our bodies, which grows older by the day, according to 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Rather than adorn our outward man, we should adorn our inner man with the word of God.
It is the word of God that makes us stronger on the inside.
The psalmist said, thy word have I hid in my heart, so as not to sin against you. So we should study the word of God and live our lives by the word of God.
Instead of dressing anyhow, exposing our bodies to cause others to sin, we should live by the gospel of Christ.
Instead of going after costly jewelleries, we should live as the word admonishes us.
Instead of shaving our eyebrows and painting of nails, we should appreciate the natural way God made us.
Our focus shouldn't be on our outward appearance, but on our inward adornment.
So anyhow dressing, adornment of the bodies, is not allowed in the church of God.
We learn from Psalms 40:8, that if our hearts delights in the laws of God, we'll not do things anyhow.
Many have become wolves in sheep's clothing. We've heard of father's raping their own daughters, husbands beating up their wives and men just behaving anyhow.
This is because their inner man is wolves.
That's why we should always examine ourselves whether we're still in the faith.
It is out of becoming a wolf in sheep's clothing that one would take weapons against fellow men.
Normally, a man wouldn't drink to stupor and sleep in gutters today and still drink again tomorrow. But because the inner man is wolf, he'll still go ahead.
We should avoid outward adornment and adorn the inner man of the spirit so that we won't sin against God.

EFFECTS OF THE TEACHING:
It would make in take more pleasure in adorning the inner man with God's word than the outward man with things of the world.
