What do the bread and wine in the holy communion symbolise? Part 2

To contribute to the question, What do the bread and wine in the holy communion symbolise? Part 2.

The literal bread and wine taken in some churches, is not the holy communion.

It is the lack of understanding of what Jesus said that brought about this. Jesus asked how the people would understand the heavenly things when they've not understood the earthly things, according to John 3:12.

It is in 1 John 1:1-3 that we have the true communion, that is, the teachings of Jesus, the word of God. By accepting the word of God is when we have communion with God and Jesus Christ.
