Interesting right? The future is a mystery that God has eluded to mortal man, and that is what intrigues human life! However, we as Christians have the unrivaled privilege of knowing our destinies as servants of God.
Brother Eli admonished us Christians to be conscious of the knowledge of the future, where we are reminded that the Bible is not only a doctrinal book but also a book of prophecy.
According to John 14:29, the intent of prophecy is to encourage our faith so that we may believe His word when it is fulfilled, as we have been told what will happen before it comes to pass. This makes us knowledgeable about what will happen in the future so that we do not just live day by day, expecting anything to happen, without knowing what will happen in the day or the future. We have the power, according to God’s word, to shape our future, as seen in Proverbs 16:9, which says that a man’s heart devises his way, but the LORD directs his steps. We thus have the power to plan and shape our future as God directs our way.
Christians do not live in uncertainty. We are knowledgeable about what will happen. One of the certainties of life is knowing that every man must taste death (Ecclesiastes 9:5), except those lucky enough to be raptured with Christ. Death should be believed and not speculated on, as it is an agreement that every living thing must taste death. In Hebrews 9:27, we are made to understand that men are appointed to die once, after which judgment is inevitable. Ephesians 2:10 states that we Christians are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, and God has before time ordained that we walk in them while we are living on earth.
We must thus believe that we are created with purpose for good works, and God expects us to walk in them, live as those with knowledge of the future, and believe that death and judgment await all living things.
Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions 🤗
Very true. Bible is not just a doctrine book, it is a prophecy book and we can even find our future in the Bible
