As children of God, God has given us the understanding and knowledge to walk according to his light. When it comes to the problem of self-defense, it is a very critical one. And we must not approach it with caution and being thoughtful.
Self-defence does not mean that we should keep harming others because we have the privilege to. Christians, we are never called to live a violent life. But we should be careful on how we handle the life of others. We are created to live in peace and spread the word of God.
Believers that are like living a violent life are not encouraged at all. But there are so many circumstances where we are threatened by other humans. And we are threatened to live to defend ourselves. But even at that, we should be careful on how we treat our fellow humans.
Self-defence is very important. Because there is no other choice when people are trying to harm us, help to defend ourselves. But we should know that our Maker places importance on the life of humans. Whatever kind of defense should be guided. And we must be careful. We must use wisdom and so many measures in order to not put lives of people in danger.
