Sometimes, we see that whenever we want to do good or desist from the bad things we have been doing, we find it difficult to stop even when we make ourselves promise never to do it again.
In this teaching, Bro Eli made us to understand that it's only the holy spirit that direct our steps and path. Without the help of the holy spirit we cannot correct or stop the evil in us.
As christians, for us to stop doing bad things, we need to belong to a true religion. Not all religions are true, there are so many false religions in the world today so belonging to any of these false religion will only make the bad things in us worsen. We are advised to belong to a true religion, keep and obey the teachings and commandments of Christ Jesus and be baptized.
As believers, we can only stop doing bad things by the help of the holy spirit, that's why we need to allow the holy spirit to dwell in us by following all the teachings and commandments of Christ.
