Genesis 1:20
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
When God began, all of the earth's living things were present. The sin represents a symbolic bond between the species. Man was the first to make an animal. On the six days of creation, man was the last to be created. There is life because it was created by someone.
The Acts 3:15
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Psalms 94:9
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
God made an ear because He is able to hear. God made eyes because He understands the idea of vision. Our eardrum is protected from harm by the design of our ear, which regulates the sound we hear. The God who created life is alive.
Daniel 12:7
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The spirit of God that has been implanted in man is the key to life. A body that has been separated from its spirit is considered dead. We cannot survive without the spirit.
Ecclesiastes 8:8
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it
