Lessons derived from today's teaching,
1 Corinthians 7:3-5 KJV
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. [4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. [5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Husbands should love their wives, share his money, body and everything with his wife.
There is no situation that fasting and prayer cannot change.
Both husband and wife must come to term of abstaining from sexual relationship during fasting.
Isaiah 58:6-8 KJV
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? [7] Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? [8] Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward.
If a man can fast and pray, he will loose the band's of wickedness e.g he will stop smoking, doing drugs etc. Allow the bound to go, forgive others their sins.
Matthew 6:12 KJV
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Let go the debt of others, pay back your debt in time.
Let the oppress go free because God will repay you.
Do good deeds to other people during fasting and prayer.
When you fast for 3 days, you will regenerate/boosts your immune systems including the elderly.
Christ has thought us on how to fast long before the invention of science.
Matthew 6:16-18 KJV
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. [17] But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; [18] That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Our request is granted when we fast and pray, it should not be made a public things, only your spouse have the right to know because both of you have to give consent of abstinence to sex.
Hebrews 13:4 KJV
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Every woman must keep her body, it prohibited for display for others, don't allow other men to fall into sin.
Matthew 5:28 KJV
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
2 Peter 2:14 KJV
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Other men should not desire other women with their eye, so your body is for the husband.
1 Peter 3:7 KJV
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
As husband and wife you should dwell together with knowledge. Some men lack self control and they can beat their wives anyhow, anywhere, dishonouring her.
Leviticus 18:19 KJV
Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
Don't have sexual relationship with your wife during her monthly period. Aan must understand that a woman's body is weak, don't make her a punching bag.
Ephesians 5:22-24 KJV
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
No matter the status of a woman, she must submit to her husband, for our prayers to be answered the husband and wife must dwell with wisdom, don't send your wife out to work and you are not idle.
1 Timothy 5:8 KJV
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1 Corinthians 11:7-15 KJV
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. [8] For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. [9] Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. [10] For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. [11] Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. [12] For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. [13] Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? [14] Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? [15] But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
The woman is expected to have her head covered but a man praying should not cover his head.
A woman's long hair is her covering, therefore men are not to keep long hair.
A good wife is favour from the Lord.
Ephesians 5:33 KJV
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
The wife is to reverence her husband just as Sarah called Abraham lord.
1 Peter 3:1 KJV
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
A man can be saved by the wife's way of live, conversation.
The way parents speak in the presence of their children goes a long way in building their children.
1 Corinthians 7:14 KJV
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
The children are either cleaned or uncleaned depending on the parent.
Luke 1:5-6,15 KJV
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. [6] And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. [15] For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
When the parents walk in righteousness it will be very easy for the children to follow in like manner.
