I welcome you all to another beautiful day. In today's teaching, we look at four different approaches of people when they hear the word of God. The way a person may respond after hearing the word of God may not be the same way another person will respond when hearing that same word.
The bible made it known to us that there are four different responses or behaviours of people when they hear God's word, and that is what we look into today. In the book of Matthew 13:3–8, it talked about the parable of a sower who sowed seeds in the garden.
There were seeds that fell by the wayside and where eaten up by the fowls. This is the first category of people. These are people who after receiving the word, the devil came and took the word away from their heart so they may not be saved.
The second scenario is when the seeds on stony places. These category of people are those who received the word with joy but the word had no root in them, and in a matter of time temptation took it away from them. The third scenario are those that fell on thorns. And when the thorns sprung up, it choked the seeds.
This category are those who after receiving the word, the trials and challenges that they were faced with made them lose faith on the word that they held unto. And the last scenario was those that fell on good soil and produced fruits. These are those that received the word with a good heart and brought forth good fruits of righteousness.
Everyone falls into one of these categories. It is advisable to be under the fourth category. Those are the set of people that God seeks. Have a nice day.
Some bible readings discussed in today's teaching are:
1 Corinthians 6:10–11, Ezekiel 36:26–28, Romans 2:4, 1 Peter 5:8, Philemon 2:13, Ephesians 2:11–13, Acts 17:27–28
This is a call for prayer. God's word will not be stolen from us. Rather, we'll be a good soil for the Word to germinate and bring fruits
