Jesus Christ ministry to this world are to retore us back to the father. Man has lost the freedom and dominion from the inception of the world in the garden of EDEN, where God commandant them not to eat from certain fruits and told them the fruit they shall eat from.
Jesus is described as full of the Holy Spirit and was led into the wildness where he fasted for forth days and forty nights, immediately after His baptism, before being tempted by the Devil.
Having defeated the devil's using the Word of God as His tool, he returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit Luke 4: 14-19 (v.14a) when the spirit of the Lord is upon anyone, the power to overcome and conquer is already sure.
Jesus read in the scriptures in the book of Isaiah which was given to Him. He unrolled the scroll and found where the nature of His ministry is written thus " The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to:
√ Preach good news to the poor
√ Proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind;
√ Release the oppressed;
√ Proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord's favour, when the Lord will save His people.
In the book of Act 10:38 attests to the fact that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil because God was with Him.
The Synagogue scene in Nazareth marks the inauguration of Jesus Christ ministry, even though He had already been teaching and healing in other town of Galilee (v. 23). It tells of the Messiah's ministry of preaching and healing to meet people need, the purpose for which He was anointed.
Lesson learn, for anyone who is aiming higher to change the environment for Christ and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, such individuals must seperate himself/herself from the world and seek for the Holy Spirit to baptise him and to prepare him ahead of the proclamation of the Gospel.
