Brother Eli from Hebrews 11,have revealed a deeper and clearer understanding of what it means when the Bible says they all died in faith.
Many people have been able to grow up hearing about Enoch and Elijah, how they went straight. Brother Eli tried to connect some dots and try to elaborate about this matter. He begins to point out something important, Jesus said no man ascended to heaven except one who came from heaven, who is Jesus Christ.
If Jesus said this, then the popular belief that Enoch or Elijah are already in heaven should not align with this word. Brother Eli shows Genesis that Enoch is already in heaven. Enoch was translated, the Bible never said he was taken to heaven, only he was no longer found in that place.
Apostle Paul mentioned Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Zerah and later even after listening to all this faithfully people, he now concludes that these all died in faith, not having received the promises. This includes Enoch and Elijah.
They all live a good life, they pleased God and they have not yet received the promise. We have to appreciate Brother Eli's explanation and how he lets the Bible interpret itself. Instead of building doctrines for just mere admission, for just mere assumption, we have been shown that the scripture harmonizes Jesus' words, the Old Testament and records all its same truths.
