The bible forbids any worship that treats the dead as gods, because Jesus is the soul mediator and God is the source of every need, honoring your ancestors is different from worshipping or seeking divine favor from them.
Practices like trying to appease them or sacrifices are considered idolatry in christian faith.
Honor your parents and elders but all the worship is supposed to go to God.
Jesus Christ is the only road that leads to God, dead ancestors can not mediat.
I believe that the dead go to heaven or hell, they don't stay as spirit to be consulted or appeased.
Consulting the dead or asking for power from the dead is totally forbidden.
Honoring your ancestors means, remembering family history, respecting elders and learning from their wisdom
Worshipping or believing your ancestors means praying to them as divine beings, making sacrifices for them or believing that they are intermediaries with God.
Honoring and respecting your family past is valuable, the bible separate honouring mortal lineage from the divine worship because it belongs to only God, Jesus is the only way for spiritual connection.
