I learned that the gathering is where we should forgive one another. Confession of sin means to admit that we are wrong. As believers,we have the obligation to forgive those who sinned against us. When we admit our sin to those we have wrong,we should equally pray for one another. We should not love only those that loved us but also love those that sinned against us.
We can not draw near to God for forgiveness when we have not forgiven those who wrong us or those we offended. We may find it difficult to forgive those that wronged us but those who forgive find peace and love. Instead of judging others,we should forgive them.
By forgiving those that wronged us,we free ourselves from burden of hatred and prepare ourselves for eternal life. When we understand the gospel of Jesus Christ,we will be more disposed to forgive others. One thing we should strive to cultivate as children of God is the disposition to forgive one another our trespasses.
The spirit of forgiveness is virtue without which we shall never fully realize the blessings we hope to receive. Forgiveness should be the attitude of every child of God. We must get into a condition where we can forgive our brethren. When we forgive those that sinned against us,we are showing appreciation for the forgiveness our heavenly father extends to us. We should not forgive only with our lips but from the depths of our hearts; every trespasses that may have been committed against us.
Forgiveness is the only way our relationship with God begins and it is the way we should live with others as well. Understanding the depth of our sin and the depth of God's love and forgiveness will inspire us to forgive and love more freely.
Understanding that we are sinners forgiven by a loving God can radically change the way we see others. It is better we confess our sins and receive forgiveness than to try to cover up our wrong doings. Unconfessed sin is not good for the soul,but confessing both to God and those who wrong us or those we wronged is freeing ourselves.
