Nah, not that complicated. I would think, that if I had a sunny day with the sun right above, I wouldn't need the lights, only the box, or a white umbrella would do the trick. But since we live in a country with almost no sunlight in the winter, I will need extra lights.

I built the box with three windows just so that I could accurately control the amount of light coming in on whatever I am shooting photos of.

So in the photos in this post, I used the floodlights on the sides, and the flash from the top window. In the top-down photo of the donuts, the flash was positioned towards the West window, and the floodlights pointed at the North and East windows.

I haven't tried it yet, but with this much light, taking a photo with a smartphone would also result in a relatively good photo. I think I might try that out next!

Yep! My iPhone needs strong light to make nice photos.
