TribeSteemUp's Weekly Gems (Week Of The 2nd to the 9th March)

Hello beautiful people!

Community Abundance Generator, which supports authors who write articles that look at ways in which we can become more empowered and create a more peaceful and free world.The TribeSteemUp community was created by @kennyskitchen. It is a

The authors who have been chosen to become part of the TribeSteemUp community are all writing content of high quality, and they all focus on topics related to the bettering of life, such as:

| Anarchy | Non-Violence | Philosophy | Veganism | Mindfulness |
| Community Empowerment | Love | Original Music | Esotericism |
| Healthy Recipes | Psychedelics | Truth | Permaculture |

The TribeSteemUp community also has 8 Pillars/Principles that each member has agreed to adhere by and you can find The 8 Pillars of TribeSteemUp at the end of this post

There has been some panic and fear amongst many of us this past week, seeing our platform taken over by one person who had no understanding about how our community works.

But even with that happening, the tribe still created some awesome content, some of which I am presenting here today. I have chosen 16 articles, that are all about inspiring us and motivating us to become more aware in our daily lives. Life is all about learning, evolving and being mindful in all that we do. By coming together and engaging with one another we can all share our wisdom and empower one another. We can create the world in which we all wish to live. Happy reading and remember to show your appreciation by upvoting and commenting. You can go one step further by following the TribesteemUp Curation Trail, this way way you are supporting all the great authors who are creating quality content.

The Importance of Emotional Balance During A Crisis. Communication, Tone, NVC, Perspective, Clarity

image.png

@eco-alex

I would like to share a little about what I've noticed happening during this crisis of Steem Vs Tron, in particular about having intense emotions and how they can alter our perceptions of what is happening. I believe this to be of utmost importance, and whilst I acknowledge and accept that we are very emotional about this situation, I would like to mention a few examples of why it is so important to keep our emotions in check, and find a way to work with them so that they don’t get in the way of making accurate assumptions and thereby productive decisions.

Crypto Lessons Everyone Can Learn From the Hostile Takeover of the Steem Blockchain

image.png

@kennyskitchen

Steem, STEEM, and Steemit are in "the news" far more than usual these last couple weeks, in what will come to be known as The Fall of Ned the Snake, The Rise of Justin the Sun, a brief period right before the community corrected the biggest blemish on this blockchain since its inceptions.
I'm going to start with the important lessons, that apply to many places besides Steem, and then at the bottom I'll put a timeline of everything that happened. Skip down to the Princess Bride meme for the timeline.

Stephen Suchan | Creating Soohan: A Super Heady Spiritual Journey

@innerverse

Stephen Suchan (AKA Soohan) produces crazy dance music with cultural flavors from around the globe. In this episode we talk about the spiritual community that arises around authentic music scenes, the rise of Soohan as a huge act at transformational festivals around North America, some thoughts on relationships, and perspectives on consciousness mysteries.

The Answer is Always the Same: Personal Responsibility

image.png

@lukestokes

Call to action: Remove your STEEM from centralized exchanges.
If you've followed my philosophical rantings here for almost 4 years (especially as of late), you'll know I'm very interested in increasing human well-being and creating a world we all want to live in. I think violence distorts human decision making and voluntary interactions via share agreement are a much better model for structuring society. As I explore these concepts (and especially lately after reading people like Thomas Campbell), I come to similar conclusions that we might be in a consciousness training simulator as individuated units of consciousness collectively part of the absolute unbounded oneness.

Sikh Temple, Delhi: Manjeet, Food for All, & Aloo Tikki

image.png

@riverflows

Manjeet is our man in Delhi. We are given his number by my yoga teacher, and are grateful to have him as our friend and guide. He sends us a text of roses every morning and asks if he can be of service. And he provides a wonderful service, taking us to many places that the backpackers of Paharganj miss as they transit in and out of Delhi. He does not take us to the places he could earn a commission, because we are friends of someone in Australia he knows well. He has a kind heart.
I suppose a genuine Sikh must have a kind heart - it is a religious imperative, although we know that religion does not always as There to the laws of their sacred texts. Still, I appreciate it when we chat about a sticker I see on local taxis about respecting woman.

Survival through home grown food as the new skill for all

image.png

@julianhorack

Food security is one of the most fundamentally important foundations to our existence on the planet. Survival of the species depends on having a constant supply of fresh produce to sustain our bodies. That and water make up our existence. The rest are all frills. Here on the south Cape coast of Africa water scarcity has become an issue of the past few decades as climate pattern shift. But if you can set up a system to catch the water then you will find that there is plenty. It just needs to be managed well. Food however, requires more endevor and few are trained or familiar with what it takes to feed themselves in the culture of markets and commercial farming.

What is meaningful decentralization anyway?

image.png

@revisesociology

I'm still trying to get my head around the relative power of SP in relation to how many witness votes we have....
one needs 17 witnesses to control the blockchain then...
If you give one account 17 or more witness votes this means that one account can hypothetically control the entire chain with sock-puppet witnesses if that account has more vested stake than all other accounts. This situation also makes it possible for one account to have absolute control if it controls 50.0000001% of all SP. (OK this is kind of stating the obvious!)
If you give one account a maximum of 16 witness votes, then you immediately reduce the 'governance power' of that 'dominant' account's stake by a factor of 2, because 2 actors are required to control the chain.

A Non-Argumentative's Guide to Debate pt.1 - The importance of consensus building

image.png

@whatamidoing

The importance of consensus building
I know some people out there love heated debate. I am not one of them. I find a lot of people, especially westerners, engage in debate because they want to win at something. They may or may not actually have good ideas. They may or may not have anything constructive to add. Often they assume that they know best and are not opening to listening.
Still, I deeply believe in consensus building as being the ideal form of decision making. A vote, whether it be one-person-one-vote or staked voting like we have here, is really just a mechanism for making decisions when we fail to come to a full consensus, but full consensus is always an ideal we should strive to approach even when we know we'll never get there.

FILLING RAISED BEDS FOR FREE

image.png

@papa-pepper

Let's do this one for free!.
Now that's I've built five more raised beds, it's time to fill them. Rather than just running out and buying some soil, I look around my property and see what I have available instead. In this video, I collect a number of resources and relocate them into the first of the five raised beds.

Why Forks Of Steem Is Going To Be A Good Thing In The Long Run

image.png

@taskmaster4450

For obvious reasons, there is a lot of discussion in Steem of late about the concept of forking the blockchain. This has gotten people's attention probably more so than ever before. If we are honest, more people know about governance and the workings of Steem at that level than they ever imagined.
Before going any further, we will note that Steem was forked many times before. Golos and Whaleshares are two such projects. Thus, we are not discussing something totally new.
Forking is a very good thing. People need to set aside this idea that a fork sets up an all or none situation. When a blockchain is forked, it provides individuals with options. It presents a situation where one is free to make his or her own choice.

Zome Building Workshop in Mazunte

image.png

@stortebeker

Even though we are super involved in our own construction project here at Itínera Theater, some of us just can't help going on additional natural building workshops, even though it may have not the slightest connection to our build. And why not? Not only does it satisfy our insatiable curiosity, but it gets us in contact with other natural builders in the area, shows us how nice a well organized workshop can be, and possibly provide ideas to copy and expand on them. Plus we got to connect with the emerging Permaculture Hub of Mazunte, who organized the workshop, and learned what a zome is, which we built from start to finish.

Glycyrrhiza spp. (Licorice Root), a panacea? - A review of literature regarding medicinal use of licorice root in traditional and modern medicine

International Women's Day - To All The Women Who Inspire Me!

image.png

@trucklife-family

My passion for nature, introduced me to Jane Goodall at a young age. I was fascinated by her work and her if you had asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up I would have said, I wanted to be like Jane. She is still such a huge inspiration to me, her love for the natural world aligns with my own and she has lived a life full of compassion, something we all can aspire to.
Another women who inspired me growing up, was Granuaile , or Grace O Malley the Irish pirate who was born in the 16th century. She rejected what was expected of her as a women and instead took to the seas, where she took wealth from the English fleets and brought them back to Ireland. She started off as a member of the ships crew, but in time captained her own fleet.

Why are we so jealous? How can we free ourselves from this egoic emotion?

image.png

@fenngen

Can we love people in a partner relationship without feeling jealousy or any form of possessiveness? Do you think that’s possible? Have you ever achieved this?
I’ve been asking myself these questions after a girl commented a post on my Facebook profile saying that she loved me. It was obvious she was saying it from admiration of something I had written that struck a chord in her, but my ex, whom I still talked to until today, went on jealousy strike and banned me from her life.

Hi, @trucklife-family. Excellent publications selected and supported by this great community.

This is my first time publishing in this community, could you orient me about the criteria to have the opportunity to receive support from TribeSteemUp? I published some days ago and I think my post does not meet the minimum requirements to be supported; I would like you to guide me to improve my content and adjust it to the criteria of TribeSteemUp community.

Thanks for your patience and attention.

Hi @flores39, joining the community does not make you a tribe member unfortunately. That process takes time and it is for people who write about the topic listed above, some people may be recommended by tribe members, but the final decision rests with @kennyskitchen. I hope that answers your question xx

Very kind for the information provided. Thank you.

Happy and blessed day
