Hello, good evening!
About a month ago, I gave up on the idea of giving up and planted a garden. Yay! π The last week and a half it has been raining almost non-stop so they have been loving the nutritious rainwater. The weeds have loved it too and have made it look rather messy, haha, but I will weed what I can once I begin my weekend.
My dad recommended I could plant flowers that would attract bees and butterflies to be near the plants. ππ¦ I'm growing zucchini, tomatoes, basil, cilantro, catnipp, and cucumbers. This is my first, official garden I've started up on my own in the back garden. I use to help my mom from time to time when I was younger.
I would like to reach out to fellow Hive gardeners with any amount of experience:

What are the best flowers (that you recommend) I could plant beside my herbs and veggies that will attract bees and butterflies to aide in pollination?

From previous experience in the garden (when it was my mother's), her zucchinis and tomatoes grow like mad giants! I'm very excited to watch them bloom and harvest as they come in. I will like to share recipes my parents like to make with our veggies and herbs.
I appreciate any response. I hope you like what I'm growing! ππ
Sweet basil
Cute catnip
Mega zucchini
Budding tomato flowers
Cucumbers have been such troopers

Looking good!
We're in the middle of building our garden, too... we're a bit "late," as well. Do keep on top of the weeds, though.
As for flowers, I am told that both Marigolds and Nasturtiums are really good planting companions; we're planning to add some to our beds, or to the edges of beds.
All the best to you and Bright Blessings!
That sounds wonderful! Thanks so much for your feedback. π What are you guys growing this season? π±π
I was outside for a good 15 minutes with my little one and she wanted to go inside (it's very hot and sunny now). But I managed to clear a the catnip and the cucumber sections. Once she goes to bed I might as well hack out the rest! XD
I will definitely seek out those flowers though. So exciting!!
As a short term solution you can use mulch or cardboard/newspaper to cover the surface area and keep the weeds from growing. Another thing would be plant the veggies together to outgrow the weeds. I found this helpful list of tips you may find useful... trendy Tips
Looks like you are off to a great start. I wish you abundance !
Aww, thank you so much! π
I love Gardening, your plants are looking very good, I would stay on top of all those weeds though before they become more work :)
Thank you!! Honestly, the cucumbers have really surpassed my expectations--both did not look like they were going to make it but have totally revived themselves. It makes me happy for them!
But yes, LOL, there will definitely be a fun weekend project. Thank you for stopping by--do you keep a garden of your own? π
Agriculture is always good. I have a small garden with plantain planted
PS: any gardening tips are welcomed! Not only in response to the question, I am open to your learned experiences. π
