The Hive of the future allows for free expression of any form regardless of accepted status quos with no middle men and no controlling infrastructure - this is the essence of the blockchain - the creation of ultimate accountability on a personal and individual level to which the individual is sovereign.
The Hive of the future has constructed into it algorithms that prevent abuse. Abuse in this sense is power struggles between those that have and those that have not.
The Hive of the future can be invested in with real monetary value but that investment allows the investor in no way any more influence over the governing infrastructure than those without.
The collective that will produce the Hive of the future will be dedicated to create a blockchain that does not carry over the hierarchies of power of this old sick society - stemming from our old sick conditioning. We recognize that in our conditioning sits this old sick society and this is why we seek to create a truly new place.
The old societal model which has been on re-run for so long... and yet it continues to fail starring the dopamine addicted human that just keeps pressing this faulty button.
The Hive of the future forms channels of consent within communities which have their own governing code and rules.
The value of the Hive of the future as a free domain where all can come and create a universe uninhibited will ultimately be seen as the only solution to an international uncensorable universal communication network.
Some may argue that this is what Hive is now.
Unfortunately this is not the case.
For the present Hive to evolve into what it needs to become to encompass the passions of humanity and allow an honest direct reflection of consciousness back to itself - it requires to do away with the old systems of meritocracy by default as dictated simply by having more means/money/accumulated value than another.
It has been established in this world that the system of value accumulation and creation, the currency, is broken. It has been taken advantage of and there is no longer anyway to tell what means were gained through honesty and respect and what means were gained through fraudulent and cunning business by the self-entitled.
On the Hive of the future the potential for anyone at any time must be limitless. This must be put into code, honed and enforced by right. This is your right for simply participating.
If the present Hive cannot evolve past the present point where it is now - something else WILL emerge.
The demand for a universal uninhibited domain of multi-verse proportions for human creation is apparent in everything that we do in this old sick society.
Once the roots are established, it will be like an idea that simply takes over.
There will be no stopping such an idea. It will take over all attempts to censor because there is an innate human need for such a system. It's demand comes from our very core.
Anyone seeking to govern and control with previous methods of human dis-ease will simply be forced to concede - this is the only way forward - there will be more battles on the way but as more and more people see what is needed - and see what their inner corrupt conditioning continually manifests - it will be seen clearly - there is NO other way.
The Hive of the future may signal the emergence of honest society.
The 'powers that be' in this present society which is crumbling are afraid to their core of this idea.
It takes 'control' and distributes it to everyone.
Who dares create such a network? To put all on the line and allow for the void of human thought to manifest a realm of infinite possibility?
Hive is the beginning and also a stepping stone to such a place of freedom.
Will it also be the end?
The choice lays with those that presently hold all the chips. Do you not see that continuing the old ways is regurgitating the past?
It's time to look past our toes and face the horizon.

i am almost certain there is a way hive can evolve into the above.
i think that there needs to be two governance systems.
The Matrix-8 Solution offers the latter.
Firstly The Matrix-8 Solution would need to be tested in a Hive Community. Once succesful. other Hive Communities could adopt Matrix-8 subplatform to test further. When, or before proven successful create a Hive-Ecosystem Matrix-8 Subplatform. Users of the COmmunities which have been testing the system can then join the Hive-Ecosystem Matrix-8 Subplatform (with same anonymous login), and others not joined another subplatform can join directly the Hive-Ecosystem Matrix-8 Subplatform. Once enough Hive users have joined (with sufficient voting power to outvote the "old guard", then a consensus could be reached to co-ordinate voting in of free-speech witnesses into the top 20. Then it would be possible to come to consensus to change code to protect free speech, and truly decentralise.
There's much more to this, but too much for me to write to help you gain sufficient understanding to be able to see how this could work. i can point you to where you can learn more, and ask questions, on request (or just look at my blog).

There are plenty enough people interested in freedom of speech and freedom in general, who will for sure join and use an equitable, truly decentralised governance & consensus facilitating system, WHEN it is easily accessible and easy to use. Once a Matrix-8 Dapp has been released and tested successfully, initially by a small group of 50 - 100 people (actually - it can be partially tested using make-shift of existing comms apps), then Beta successfully tested in a larger community - they will come in droves!
@snider, Lethean Developer, has the dApp largely coded already in his head i think, with intentions to use it ( as a Matrix-8 sub platform) for community governance of a Lethean (LTHN - private coin and VPN) DAO (or similar setup)
But for now, we need those 50 - 100 people who will join to begin test the system. How about you?

We don't look forward to Hive's future, it is Hive looking forward to our future with them instead! They innovate to benefit the majority of the people, that's why I say they're looking forward to our future with them. They started Hive to help people earn thru posting instead of posting for free, and you don't even need to be an influencer!
I'll gladly join a community, or sub-community without money playing a role in governance. That said, I think such community shall not use the concept of money in any way. No rewards to content and witnesses, no proposal fund system, no currency at all other than our own will to be part of the community as well as our contributions to the whole in whatever way we can, as volunteers. Basically we apply the same behaviour to the community and its members, as we go by with our closest friends. Although this sounds and maybe even feels a little like Utopia, I like the believe this is possible and achievable.
As do I!
There are some exciting ideas floating around. Each time an attempt is made, we learn something new!

In this imperfect world it is impossible to achieve complete satisfaction with so many radical conditions and persons that come to play in everything we do. I’much rather focus on what I can do within my immediate space than stress over the inevitable future. Regardless however, this was a good read and I’m happy to have come across this thought even though I’ve tried to suppress it for a while now. There’s always going to be politics in everything we do and since nothing lasts forever it is my choice to enjoy the good times and focus on what I can do. It could be best to let the inevitable be as doing the contrary may present an undesirable effect, but that’s just one way to look at it of course.
When we are the collective that run Hive - we are in control.
If we do not change things in the way that will work for better in the future while we have control.
We only have ourselves to blame for not changing it.

You've made a whole lot of sense here my friend, It's just that I do not trust a democracy or any system of human government completely. I'm happy to be subject, but I would never bank on a manmade system of human government. Time has proven that it's only temporary but what you imply is a regular checking of the system for flaws I guess.
The idea of equal rights regardless of amount of stake is a good one perhaps, then decisions will be made by all who wish to have a say. Somehow i still see a loophole with the endless possibilities of time and chance.
Its a great proposal though, it will fly for sure.
I also question the value put on so called engagement.
In centralised social media one is encouraged to like comment etc for the algorithm not necessarily because they enjoy the content. I often enjoy content but I don't comment, maybe because I have nothing to add, maybe becauee I find typing difficult
I wonder how the future of engagement will look Like? Will the algorithm be able to sense our emotional responses to content, apparently they already know us better than ourselves lol
I see where you are going with this but I envision something much less invasive for the gathering of accurate data for constantly relevant and adaptive intelligent algorithms.
Unfortunately the path to freedom and the path that is laid before us by the technocrats are extremely similar in many ways.
It is a slightly distorted parallel universe they seek to impose.
The use of nanotechnology within the human biome for the gathering of accurate data regarding reactions to stimulus - gathered in real time - is already a thing.
So I don't wish to invade or impose on the natural bodily autonomy of the sovereign living man or woman.
The Hive of the future respects the sovereignty of the living man or woman and with this - this living man or woman's bodily autonomy (aka 'I decide what happens to my body' - aka medical consent is required for the inclusion of small micro-organisms or nano-technology in my body for the editing of my genetic make-up or for the gathering of information for study or industry).
So let us NOW make the distinction between the two paths.
EDIT: Having said all this - the Hive of the present may well become a piece of the precursor to the technocrats ball and chain of the future. It's a fine line.
I think I might at least partially agree with the sentiment but I don't see any actionable suggestions here. How exactly do you envision the system to work? What changes exactly would you make?

Basically, algorithms to make proof of brain and proof of stake on an equal par - need to be written into the code.
Equality needs to be in actuality a key ingredient of the foundation of this blockchain - and not just 'equality' bandied around like a team flag for a novelty investment, while repeating old patterns of accumulation proven noxious.
Any compromise of this or not doing anything at all will cause Hive to digress into exactly the same cycles that we have witnessed in the civilisations of man.
There will be a rise and then there will be fall.
It won't mean we haven't learned anything.
However, it would be nice if this one was the one and we could get it working now and just get on with it. 😀

In my opinion it is an unfortunate name for a social media blockchain but I'll give it a go anyway! lol
