What's up, dear Hivers! @makiyumee here and I am back again with another blog! Ha, really. Reality can really slap us very hard and make us wake up and face the truth. My vacation is ending soon, and it won't be long until I finally start my internship journey. Today, I will be sharing to you about how my enrollment for the second semester went out, so stay tuned!
It was a bright and sunny Monday morning on January 6, 2025, and I was heading to CNU-Medellin's campus for my enrollment. The warm sunlight filled the day with energy and excitement, signaling the start of a new semester and a significant chapter in my student journey. With all my enrollment documents neatly organized and in hand, I walked confidently through the school gates, eager to complete the process.
I first headed to the nurse’s office since she wanted to discuss my medical results. I greeted her politely and waited while she looked over my documents. After a quick chat, we resolved the issue efficiently, and I thanked her before proceeding to the program chair's office. When I arrived, I noticed a long line of students already waiting to submit their documents and complete their enrollment.
The line went down the hallway, and for a moment, I felt a bit discouraged seeing so many students lined up in front of me. But I reminded myself that this was part of the experience. Patience is key, and I truly believe that good things come to those who wait. So, I decided to keep a positive attitude and joined the line with a smile. While I waited, I took the opportunity to look around, observe my fellow students, and even chat with a few to help pass the time while waiting. Everyone seemed just as eager and excited as I was to finish their enrollment and start the new semester. Even though the wait felt long, I knew it was worth it because it brought me closer to my goals as an education student.
As I stood in line with my classmates, we spent the time chatting to make the wait more enjoyable. We talked about all sorts of random things, like which schools we might be deployed to for our internships and who our mentors might be. There was so much excitement and curiosity in the air, and our conversation was filled with a lot of "what ifs." What if we got assigned to a school far away? What if our mentor turned out to be strict? What if we ended up in the same deployment school? These questions made us laugh and wonder as we tried to imagine what the future had in store for us.
Our conversations were filled with nervousness and excitement, but all of that was suddenly interrupted when it was finally my turn to present my requirements to the program chair and the campus registrar. I walked up to the table with my documents in hand, feeling both relieved and nervous. They carefully checked everything to make sure my papers were complete and in order. I waited patiently as they reviewed the forms, and after a few moments, they gave me a nod and a smile, signaling that everything was okay.
Once that step was done, I moved on to the next table for the final part of the process and it was getting my school ID validated. This was the last step, and I felt a sense of accomplishment knowing I was almost done. The staff at the table was kind and efficient, and it didn’t take long before my ID was validated. As I walked away, I felt a wave of relief and excitement, knowing that I had successfully completed my enrollment and was ready for the new semester ahead.
After we successfully completed our enrollment, my friends and I decided to head straight to the town hall to get our cedula. It was an important requirement for our internship orientation, which was scheduled to happen the next day. When we arrived at the treasury, we fell in line and waited for our turn. Gladly there were only a few people. The process at the town hall didn’t take too long, but we had to wait for our turn since there were others also lining up to get their cedula. We chatted and laughed quietly while waiting, sharing our excitement and a little nervousness about the upcoming orientation.
Once we had our cedulas in hand, we paid the lady at the counter and we all felt a sense of relief knowing we had completed another important task for our internship. To celebrate, we all agreed that we deserved a treat for our hard work and decided to reward ourselves with some tasty and crispy Chicken Joy at Jollibee. We hired a tricycle to take us to the nearest branch which was at Bogo City, and the ride was filled with lighthearted conversation and laughter.
When we arrived at Jollibee, we ordered our favorite meals and couldn’t wait to dig in. The delicious smell of fried chicken filled the air, making us even more excited. As we ate, we talked about how satisfying it was to reward ourselves after accomplishing something important. It’s a little tradition we have. Whenever we finish a challenging task or achieve something, we treat ourselves to something special. These moments motivate us to keep working hard and doing our best in everything we do. The day ended on a happy note, filled with good food, laughter, and the feeling of accomplishment. As I headed home, I felt grateful for the progress we made and excited for the new journey we were about to start together.
That would be all for today's blog. Thank you so much for staying until the end and I will see you all on the next one!
