What's up, dear Hivers! @makiyumee here and I am back again with another blog! Today, I am going to be sharing to you our university's Educ Fest that happened last November 22, 2024. So, without further ado, here it is!
When I arrived at the campus, it was still early in the morning. The chairs in the covered court were neatly arranged but remained empty. Only a few students were around, quietly waiting or chatting in small groups. Members of the Education Circle were busy making final adjustments to the stage and decorations. The place was calm, with a quiet sense of anticipation before the program began.
I was waiting with my other classmates for the attendance sheet to be given until the time came where it was time for us to sign our time in. Soon, the program started, and we were greeted with the energizing Zumba.
@iamcheerfellll, who was one of the emcees of the program also danced with us as we enjoyed the Zumba that was performed by some of our classmates in front of the audience. After the energizing Zumba and some opening remarks, the first contest in the morning which was Spelling Bee.
We cheered for our classmate that represented our section for the Spelling Bee, but we made sure not to cause some huge noise so that the contestants can still focus on the contest. While the spelling bee was on going, the other members of the Education Circle were launching their feeding program for the students.
After the Spelling Bee ended, there was a demo presentation by a 4th-year BEED student. She confidently stood in front of the audience, ready to showcase her teaching skills. During her demonstration, she explained her lesson clearly and managed the flow of the presentation well. Her classmates actively participated, pretending to be her students, and following her instructions. The way she handled the classroom setup and engaged with her "students" was impressive. The audience could see how prepared and professional she was in delivering the lesson.
When lunch break finally came, my friends and I went to the restaurant where we always eat together. It’s become like a little tradition for us to gather there during breaks, sharing laughs and enjoying our meals. The food was great, as usual, and the place felt comforting with all the familiar faces. However, we didn’t stay too long this time because I needed to prepare for the first contest of the afternoon, which was the Quiz Bowl. I wasn’t originally planning to join, but when I found out that no one else from our class wanted to participate, my friend and I decided we should step up and represent our section.
The thought of competing made me nervous, and my hands were slightly shaking as we entered the contest area. Despite the nerves, we managed to answer a lot of questions and score a good number of points. It felt rewarding to see our efforts pay off, even though the competition was tough. What made it even better was receiving a small prize for participating, which brought a big smile to my face. It was a great reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone can sometimes lead to unexpected happiness.
After the Quiz Bowl, my friends and I decided to take a break and explore the booths that were prepared by the students from both the lower years and our year level. There were so many creative and interesting booths set up around the campus, each offering something unique to see or try. We walked around, amazed by the effort and creativity of the students who organized them. One booth, in particular, caught our attention—it was made by the BEED students from our year.
It stood out not only because of its colorful design but also because of the exciting games they had prepared. We couldn’t resist trying out the games, so we joined in and played activities like the Telepathy Game, Ping-Pong Game, and Shooting Game. Each game brought out our playful and competitive sides, as we cheered for each other and tried our best to win.
We laughed a lot, especially when one of us would miss an easy shot or make a funny mistake. Our desire to win became so intense that we ended up spending a lot of coins to keep playing again and again. Even though we didn’t win every time, the fun and excitement of playing together made the experience unforgettable. It felt like the perfect way to bond with friends while enjoying the event.
Just as we finished playing all of our coins at the booths, the program reached its most exciting part—the cosplay competition featuring book and movie characters. Contestants from different year levels under the education department were all dressed up, showcasing their creative costumes and their interpretation of the characters they chose to portray.
When they walked onto the stage, one by one, the crowd couldn’t help but cheer and clap enthusiastically. Their costumes were detailed, and you could tell they put a lot of effort into perfecting their looks, from the hairstyles to the accessories that matched their characters.
Each contestant performed a short production number, and I was in awe of how confidently they presented themselves. Some acts were dramatic, some were humorous, and others were action-packed, making the entire show engaging and fun. After the performances, the judges huddled together to finalize their scores and while we waited for the results, a group of students entertained the audience with a high-energy dance number.
Their lively performance made everyone smile, and the cheers from the crowd added to the festive atmosphere. Soon, the judges finally announced who was the winner and when we heard that the champion of the cosplaying contest was a 4th year student like us, we cheered with all our might. We, the senior students, were all happy because of the outcome of the contest.
I hope you had fun while reading today's blog. That would be all and I will see you all on the next one!

Your campus' Educ Fest looks fun and well-organized-- there's a lot of games and events throughout the program! I am incredibly amazed at that one BEED student who did a demo-- with a big crowd at that. (I'm a little jealous at her confidence and competence haha)
Same here! I'm also having trouble when it comes to demonstrations because of confidence and competence but I always try my best to give the best performance🥰✨️
