I Was "Kidnapped" For 3 (Three) Days And It Changed My Perspective on Leadership.

I honestly went for ELEDA 2025 thinking it would just be another “professional development program.” You know attend the sessions, take a few notes, enjoy the atmosphere and go home. But from the very first day, I realized this wasn’t one of those trainings you walk into casually and walk out the same way.

This one had depth.
This one had intention.
This one had impact.

Walking Into the Room…

The energy alone was different, everyone came with their own expectations, their own stories and their own hunger to grow. For me, I just wanted clarity, clarity about leadership, about influence and about the kind of person I am becoming.

But what I got was far more than clarity.
I got awareness.

The Conversations That Shifted Something in Me

There were moments in the training that felt like someone picked up a mirror and placed it directly in front of my mindset, not to criticize me but to show me the parts of myself I often overlook, my strengths, my blind spots, my habits, my potential.

I realized that leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice or the busiest person.
It’s about presence.
It’s about self-control.
It’s about knowing when to step up and when to step back.

Most importantly, it’s about serving others without losing your sense of self.

Lessons That Hit Deep

A few things stayed with me throughout the entire training:

Growth rarely feels comfortable, every stretch may come with a little discomfort, but that discomfort showed me areas I needed to work on.

Leadership starts from within, before you influence others, you must learn to manage yourself, your emotions, your reactions, your communication.

You can’t lead effectively if you don’t understand people. Empathy is not a weakness, it is a leadership tool.

Surrounding yourself with the right minds changes everything. The people in that room pushed me, inspired me, and challenged me in the best ways.

The Turning Point

There was a moment, quiet but powerful when I caught myself thinking:
“I am not who I used to be, and I’m not yet who I’m becoming, but I’m on the right path.”

That was my turning point.
That was when I realized the training was not just about leadership positions, it was about personal evolution.

Leaving the Academy With a New Mindset

I left the Leadership Academy refreshed, aligned and more intentional.
Not because everything suddenly became perfect but because I now understand that leadership is a continuous journey, not a destination.

It is about showing up for yourself, for your goals and for the people connected to your purpose.

This experience didn’t just teach me about leadership.
It reminded me that I am allowed to grow, allowed to evolve and allowed to rewrite my story at any point.

And honestly?
I’m grateful. Deeply grateful.

Final Thought

If you’ve ever doubted your ability to lead, influence, or inspire, remember this:
Leadership is not a title, it is a mindset and the moment you decide to grow, you’ve already stepped into leadership.
