Yes, Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in India more than Durga Puza I think. Also, ganesha, karvacath is considered big festivals as well. When I was in India for travel purposes, I saw diwali. I guess I was lucky because I bought a very nice Lehenga from Delhi as Diwali Shopping :D
