Right actions in the future are the best apologies for bad actions in the past.

- Tryon Edwards -

I fucked up, it was accidental sure, but sometimes mistakes must be atoned for and that often starts with an apology.

- galenkp -

I seek atonement over the post I did yesterday about some flowers I have in my garden which I posted in the wrong community.

You can see the post here if you like; it was posted in the weekend experiences community (which is run by me) by mistake as I'd written the post for the shit photography community (also run by me). It's not too much of an issue and the admin (me) is unlikely to mute my post.

Having said that, I felt obligated to photograph some shots for the shit photography community to make amends for the shit photos in yesterdays post not making it to the appropriate community as originally intended.

Eating chocolate isn't my thing, it's not that I don't like it because I fucken love chocolate, but it's not great for my health and I focus on being healthy which hopefully helps me extend my life and be in great shape to live it as best as I can - so far I'm on track because I haven't died yet. However, sometimes I permit myself some chocolate so I figured I'd eat some and take some shit photography along the way.

This chocolate is from Haigh's a very legit South Australian chocolatier that make some amazing chocolates. If you don't believe me you can ask @meesterboom as I've sent his family a care package loaded with Haigh's in the past.

I only had four of them to work with as my partner had eaten a couple already - surprising as she doesn't eat much chocolate either - but that was ok because I only intended to have a little taste. As you can see I took a little bite from the four remaining chocolates (all fucken awesome) and the rest went back into the little box they came in. My partner will probably eat them later. I was careful to let her know they may have been nibbled on as below:

Hey babe, just letting you know those Haigh's chocolates might have a little nibble out of one or two.

It's all four of course, but I wanted to give her a surprise; I'm so thoughtful huh? She looked at me with that look she gives me, that knowing look of, yeah nutbag, I know you bit them all. I didn't really see the look though because she was watering the garden in a bikini at the time and...well...boobs.

So, this is my apology post for putting my shit flower photos in the weekend experiences community instead of the shit photography community and while I'm on the topic I thought I'd ask y'all if you've ever apologised for something and if so what was it and why? How did you feel afterwards and how did the apology help you move forward? Feel free to comment if you like.

Oh I remember the Haigh's!!! They did the frogs didn't they? Yum.

Watering the garden in a bikini. Ah, splendid. In summer here it would probably be watering the garden in a burka to keep warm 🤣🤣

Yeah man, and I need to send some more to you...it's too bloody hot right now though, you'd get some very melty chocolate. I'll get it done though, you've been a good boy all year or so Santa told me.

Oh yeah, she had on short shorts and a bikini top and cowgirl hat...No need to say more...except the crocs she had on sort of spoiled the look...cowgirl boots would have been better. 😁

A burka huh? Fucken fuckety fuckballs...no thanks. But...yeah, Scotlandish summers are known to be fucken cold. Maybe break out your bear skin.

Bloody crocs, a plague on mankind they are!!

Hehe, imagine a package that had been severely melted 🤣🤣 customs would have a fine time with that

I agree (although I'll admit to having some (OD Green camo ones). Not a good look at all. Maybe that'll be a good weekend-engagement topic..."Show your Crocs!"

I'd not be surprised if your package arrived with some customs-applied bite marks in the chocolate.

Show your crocs.

I am in...

Lol...that's a pretty smug looking croc...must have just eaten an American; our Aussie crocs love to eat yanks.

Hopefully an American Politician. 😉

In that case you have made it ok. We all know that camo makes everything better!!

I am surprised such packages make it through at all without being snaffled!!

Anyone that says they haven't apologised for anything is either lying or a cad.

Those chocolates look pretty damn good! I am currently cheerfully eating my way out from under a pile of chocolate that I got for Christmas and am very happy about because chocolate is one of my favourite things x_x

I would have been annoyed at you for just taking a bite though, eat the whole damn thing XP

Many cads around the place.

I can't eat the whole thing, too mu h sugar, so I'm lucky my partner is tolerant. She'll probably not eat those chocolates either so they'll sit there until I get back around to a few more nibbles.

You got much more to get through?

Chocolate? Yeeeeeesssss? >_>

that's one area I'm doing way too well in and would like that success to transfer to more important things x_x

It sounds like your chocolate skills are at expert level. Nice work, an inspiration to us all.

Apologize...

Nah, I own it.!

Thaaaaz Right. I meant to do that.

Or I didn't do that, nobody seen me do that. You can't prove anything... 🤣😅😅😂😭😳

Yeah, I didn't need to apologise, did nothing wrong...just needed a title and some text and this seemed to work.

With those chocolates everything is excused. What a delight. There is no guilt to atone for. Sorry, I know gluttony is a sin. But that delicious sight makes anyone flinch jjj. So let's eat chocolates that anyone can make a mistake.

They were very nice...would have been better if I was able to finish them all but I'm a disciplined man so only had a little bit.

Urgh! How gross nibbling all the chocolates and not eating them all! Please go apologize to the chocolates!!

Didn't someone apologise to you recently after they had a slash at you and your mum?

Oh, I just saw your response on discord. Good on you 👍👍

Lol...yeah if I ate them all I'd be in hospital probably. And...nope there was no apology and neither would an apology make any difference. It's not the first time he's said such things and so Thor's hammer drops, over and over again.

Apologies accepted, I thought .... the flowers belong to a weekend event... how good are those chocolates... but they don't keep bitten hahahaha

As for the apology, yes I have apologised whenever I have made a mistake or misinterpreted a situation. One of the last times was for something I bought for my brother and I got the brand wrong, I apologised and changed the product. It wasn't very serious but I still like to make amends and it always feels good to apologise.

It wasn't a real apology, just a way to lead into my post.

I know... 😂

Oh ok, I wasn't sure.

Likewise...apology accepted...

Good night and have a good rest... I'm having lunch and going to a museum!

I'm on the topic I thought I'd ask y'all if you've ever apologised for something and if so what was it and why?

I think you've brought up an interesting topic here. I've been busy with family since they came to visit Malaysia.

I actually had like a 2-3 hours conversation with my step-dad on this and I've been slightly enlightened on the bigger picture in life. It actually started out with what is life and it got kind of deep. I'm not sure if you will get this but our life is actually meaningless. We were just meant to procreate and that's it. That's actually all living things trees, animals, insects etc. If we die, we just become part of the nutrients to grow the next life. I don't want go on too much on this because not everyone will get it and some people won't be able to fathom it but I honestly think that you are able to. Everything we do in life is to go against that theory of procreating and honestly to justify our existence is more than just that conspiracy theory.

Anyways within our conversation, my step-dad mentioned that our actions is kind of what sets course for consequences whether they be good or bad. For example, if someone beats me up and I think it's ok to beat somebody else up, I'm actually continuing that chain. If I don't do it though, it actually stops this chain reaction from continuing. Sadly, the world will always continue because it's impossible for everyone to stop.

Anyways I think apologizing is the right thing to do because you have the intention to set things right. Who knows maybe you feel like you're right but it's not always about being right. Sometimes you can be right and be the one to apologize because you're the better person. I do think apologizing helps me move on and others as well as long as they are doing it genuinely. I feel it shows growth and maturity but that's just my opinion.

Hopefully, what I said makes sense. If it didn't, then just forget it. I'm not the best at explaining things but it's really crazy once you catch the gaps in what's happening and what's happened in life throughout history.

It makes sense, although I think it depends on what's being apologised for.

This apology post was really just a way to lead into my photos, something I thought might be a little more interesting than here's some photos and judging by some of the comments, I was right.

I think an apology should come with action not just words in many cases but I don't feel any need to apologise for my sense of honour or integrity...you know what I mean? An apology must mean something.

Anyway, thanks for your story and for your thoughts. I agree that sometimes a simple apology is all that's needed to make things better, as long as it's heartfelt.

Yes for sure it depends on the circumstances! For me, I think it's more on situations where a person wrongs someone or inflicts some sort of suffering towards another whether it be physical or mental etc intentionally or accidentally.

I don't feel any need to apologise for my sense of honour or integrity

I get what you mean. You shouldn't need to apologize for this. You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes people are too sensitive or don't get it but I know you're a smart guy so you would probably know where to draw the line on that stuff depending on who you were talking to.

You're welcome and I'm glad I was able to make some sense and have some agreement on what I said haha.

It's a personal thing I guess and I think just needs a little common sense applied to know when and when not to apologise.

oh ya that's super true. It does need that bit of common sense. Some people though I just don't know what's wrong with them sometimes. Maybe they are just consumed by all the noise in this world and lost touch of logic

So much noise in the world now and most of it with no value to add.

Good morning Galen, it is good manners to apologize when mistakes are made, and it is good to repair the mistake you mention with some exquisite chocolates.

I subscribe to both quotes. On this occasion I refer to the one by Tryon Edwards. Not because I don't apologize when I think I have made a mistake but because, sometimes, the best apology is to repair the mistake with good deeds, I did that with my father.

U

I didn't need to apologise at all of course, I just thought that might be a good way to lead into the photos.

It was clear, although I still like the message. Happy days off.

Shite when things go wrong, slip up all forgiven 🙃 apology not needed, who thinks straight in this heat?

Ladies dress style gardening in Summer spot on...

Yeah, I have many excuses but at the end of the day no harm was done.

We panic for nothing, an apology is all that is required, life has too many twists and turns to be right all the time.

Those definitely look like some really nice chocolates. Sadly, this is the time of year over here when you are flooded with poor quality chocolate. I was able to get my hands on some of the Lindor 70% cocoa truffles.

Poor quality chocolate is a travesty. Because I eat so little chocolate it's always good stuff, never the rubbish. Lindt chocolate is my usual go-to but Haigh's is bloody awesome and hard to resist.
