RE: The city of Madrid is waking up

“Oh, Cumaná, who would see you
and walk through your streets
and go to San Francisco
to mass at dawn”
(Anonymous)
A famous song in Cumaná, which I could sing to Madrid, even if I didn’t know which parish to attend.
Although I was present, I don’t remember, but my baptism must have been in Congreso.
I think you managed to capture the magic of that early hour when, as the Arab poets say, you can’t tell if a thread is white or black, I imagine you on those wet streets about to meet the spirit of Fonseca.
When I walk through Buenos Aires with its well-kept groves and checkered sidewalks, like a chocolate bar and still cobbled roads, it brings back memories of childhood, of that time so far away that sometimes seems like another life.

Thank you very much for your good wishes, I think that what I set out to do a couple of years ago is coming true.

I didn't know the song, but I can tell you that, I don't know if I captured the spirit of the moment, but there is a photo that, to my surprise 🫢, I like.

I also tell you that I was waiting for this comment. I know how much you love Madrid and how closely you are connected to this city. And it was/is very important to know what these images conveyed to you.

A hug from a friend, @felixmarranz.
