"The Beautiful Person" was adapted from a seventeenth-century novel, La Princesse de Clèves, one of the first psychological dramas in Western literature. Instead of a royal court, this adaptation is set in a Parisian high school, and the arrival of new girl Junie leads to issues and trouble.
