This is really interesting I was reading every words and I found ur post to be very educative.
According to the Benin culture if an oba dies he is also buried with I think seven heads or there about and they would be all women one thing I know for sure is that he is buried with some heads alive.
I think it's still practiced till date.
There are some of our tradition that where not forgotten and are still practiced till date and sometimes it's even practiced by those so called educated ones.
