When I was a kid, I remember I was collecting marbles, soda cans, and bottle caps... 😃... But my sister was collecting something similar to you, but mostly they were envelopes and patterned sheets inside them... They would usually go in packs, with the same "design" on the envelope outside, and the paper inside...

I think collecting soda cans has always been popular. I remember several friends doing it when we were teenagers 🙂.
And yes, it was like you said, I had several sets of patterned sheets with their envelopes, but apparently I used them, because they're not there anymore 😄.
