My rings over the years - My special collection. πŸ’

in Hive Collectors β€’ 5 days ago

I don't remember exactly when this all started, but I do know it was many, many years ago.

I love rings, I love them and years ago I used to wear a lot of them, two or three on each hand, now only one on each hand. But at one time that fanaticism was much greater.

I think it all started with the first or the oldest one I have at the moment. It is very simple, a alliance. Yes a alliance that was given to me when I graduated from primary school and I was 12 years old. It's just a small wedding ring, but it meant a lot to me and I always wore it.

As always I have many stories of my collections, because for me each of these rings is special, of course some more than others. Some were simply gifts or were bought for me by my mother and not for that reason less important.

As for the material, I don't attach much importance to it. For me the most important thing is that they catch my eye, that I like them, especially because of their rarity.

20241022_124018.jpg20241022_124045.jpg

But if one thing is certain, I love silver-plated rings more than gold-plated ones. I don't pay much attention if they are made of nickel silver, silver or something else. Of course the silver ones have often been meaningful gifts and the others I have bought because they are more malleable materials and I like weird shapes. .... Weird like me... I think.

So let's tell some stories about rings here. I tried to group them according to their origin, because I counted 19 rings and that's a lot.

These two you see here are gifts from my mother, one was hers when she was young, the brown one, and the other one she made for me with a mother-of-pearl stone.

20241022_125119.jpg

These three you see here are very, very special. One is the alliance I told you about earlier, simple but very important to me.

The other thicker one has a panther design and was given to me by my brother.

Both of them are made of silver.

The third one is my mother's headband and she gave it to me as a present when I turned 15. I remember that day she gave me this white gold ring and a personal diary with leather covers that was hers, but she hadn't used it. Everything has a story and that is what makes things valuable, not their value in money.

The next three are also very special, I will tell you about them.

The cat ring is made of silver and was given to me by some of my students when they found out I was coming to Spain, a farewell present. You know I love cats, don't you?

The second one, in the middle, was a gift from my friend Mariano, who I know will read this. He sent it to me from Argentina and he bought it at the craft fair I always went to. It is very special to me.

The third one you see, has an enormous value. My first student gave it to me. One day she came to class, her name was Alicia, and I saw her wearing it. I simply said to her: what a beautiful ring. She said: do you like it? She took it off and gave it to me. She was pure love.

Of the following two rings (I know you see three, but one is to hold the little horse, which fell off to take the photo) there is little history, one is inherited from a cousin I never met and the little horse I bought the only time I travelled to Buenos Aires in 1995 on a school trip I made with the school. Beautiful memories.

The next 5 rings are all bought in that artisan fair I mentioned. I separated them this way because the two that see alone are the ones I wear the most, of course one is the eye of Ra, an eye, I love eyes, but I think you already know that.

20241022_130126.jpg

And finally these four rings were all bought by my mother in a shop in Argentina that was close to my house and as I loved rings every now and then I would buy one. They didn't cost much and I loved them because they are raised.

Of course all these rings don't go on the same finger, I have worn them on different fingers. There was even one that I lost going to a party that was silver with coloured stones inlaid and I wore it on my little finger.

There are always stories, lots of stories and when I was teaching computer classes I loved to wear them because it was difficult to get them caught on something, as you can see they are not all regular shaped and sometimes cause accidents.

My favourites nowadays are the two I use the most, but of course the ones that have an emotional story behind them are also very important to me. To mention one I could say the one that my first student gave me, now it is a great treasure for me because she is no longer with me.

Those rings that are given in this way I think they leave a mark on the person who receives them, knowing that they were from someone else and that they were given with a lot of love.

Also those that have been special gifts in special circumstances, have an incalculable value. And it has nothing to do with money. Feelings are more important to me and in these rings there is a lot of it.

It is a pleasure for me to bring you this collection, I think the largest I have and I love it.

Always very grateful to all of you for watching and reading. I send you a big greeting and see you soon.

They are beautiful. I have never worn gold rings.
Of all of them I really like the eye of Horus.

And the first one here from right to left.

;)

I've only had one gold one and it belongs to my mother .... I hardly ever use it, in Argentina never hahaha it was dangerous. The rest of my family's gold things we sold them... you know.

The eye of Horus is my favourite too!😍

Hello @avdesing good afternoon
I loved your collection of rings, they must look very beautiful on your hands, the cat ring is the one I loved the most
Have a beautiful day

I love that you chose one! I like it very much very much! Thank you @miprimerconcurso πŸ˜ƒ

It seems you were thr guiding force behind "Lord of rings". Or should I say upcoming 'witches rings'. Each of them were beautiful ...infact these collection makes your old fingers looks quite attractive.🀩

These are... yesterday's witch's rings hahahaha... like old fingers... too bad!🀣

Those rings are all beautiful and artistic! I particularly like the Eye of Horus, but it's all beautiful jewelry.

I only own one ring. It's made of silver with gold carvings. It depicts Raven, a mythic being in indigenous culture associated with magic, intelligence, and mischief. The artist signed it inside, so it's really cool.

The eye of Horus is also my favourite! Because I am fascinated by Egyptian culture.

Your ring is really fabulous, and I love how it is made and its meaning. thanks for showing it to me!😍

How are you dear friend @avdesing good afternoon
What a beautiful collection of rings you have, I loved what your mother gave you, and the one your first student gave you
I appreciate you sharing all this valuable information about them
Have a beautiful afternoon

How great to know which ones you liked the most, they are all very special. Thank you very much @jlufer πŸ˜ƒ

‘Que buena colección de anillos! Lo que mÑs me gusta es que son diseños poco comunes y eso les da un valor extra, aunque mi favorito sin dudas es el que tiene la cara de un gato ☺️✨

Segunda persona que elije ese anillo, va ganando!! A mi tambiΓ©n me encanta y precisamente eso es lo que me gusta que sean fuera de lo comΓΊn, muchas gracias Gloria!πŸ’—

A precious collection of emotions and memories, I say I'm wrong, of rings. Of all, the one I like the most is the one with mother-of-pearl stone. It has also brought back memories for me.
Thank you for showing us your collection of rings, I mean memories, I mean rings.

Best regards Amonet.

I think they are rings with memories hahaha I love them, each one has something special. Thank you very much @enraizar πŸ˜ƒ

You are very likely right, you know them better than me. A post has been left, I would say even poetic. Thanks for sharing @avdesing ... those memoirs, I say rings with memories. 😁

hahaha I don't know what I write until I write it, I just look at the pictures and the words flow, what I can tell you is that when I wrote about my first student's ring... there were tears... it was emotional.

I don't find it hard to believe you. Even if it is a text that came up on its own, thank you for sharing it. Although I am a root, I like this kind of publications. They also excite me, not as much as the author, of course.

Thank you very much!!!!!

You have a lot of variety of rings in all its forms to wear on different fingers and thus give a different plus to your look, I really liked the one your mom gave you for your 15th birthday, the cat ring and the one your brother gave you.

Those three have come from my family and they are super special, and beautiful too. Thank you so much Monica!πŸ’—

You, young lady, do have a large and varied collection of rings, all beautiful, one more beautiful than the other. The one with the cat caught my attention hahaha ❀️

The cat with the shiny eyes, I think it won, many people loved it!!!! Long live cats! Thanks Yami!πŸ’—
