Hello friends, I have a sweet potato that is 1 m., a week old in my refrigerator and has not been processed by my wife. because it is always there while I do not know when my wife will process it so I took the initiative to process the cake. I have seen my wife make this cake before so I will practice it too. I want to make a surprise for her so that when she comes home playing with her friends my cake is ready. And to make this cake I need some ingredients which I will write the recipe and how to make it below.
Ingredients needed
1. 200 grams of sweet potatoes
2. 100 grams of wheat flour
3. 50 grams of tapioca flour
4. 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
5. 400 ML of coconut milk that I took from 1 pack of 65 ML instant coconut milk
6. A little yellow food coloring
7. 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
8. A little salt, approximately ¼ teaspoon of salt
How to make:
1. Peel the sweet potatoes, wash them, cut them into several pieces, wash them, then boil them until soft
2. After the sweet potatoes are soft, boil them for about 7 minutes over medium heat, then I lift them and I take the sweet potatoes only, then I puree them using a ladle, but you can use any tool that makes your job easier
3. After the sweet potatoes are declared soft, add the granulated sugar and leave a little, about 1 tablespoon, to make the white dough
4. Then add the wheat flour, and leave a little bit of this wheat flour to make the white dough
5. Then add the tapioca flour and leave a little bit of this flour to make the white dough
6. Then add 300 ML of coconut milk and I leave the 100 ML for the white dough
7. Then stir slowly and don't forget to add yellow food coloring, actually in this process you can add any coloring, but because the sweet potatoes are yellow and as a strengthener, I add yellow coloring and it's only a little bit, not to the point ¼ teaspoon.
8. Stir until all the dough is evenly mixed then put it in the mold and steam for about 5 minutes or until the dough hardens slightly
9. While waiting for the dough to harden slightly, I will make a white dough so that it has a color gradation here, namely by adding the remaining wheat flour, tapioca flour, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, remaining granulated sugar and a little salt, then I mix 100 ML of coconut milk left over from the first dough. Stir until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
10. Then while tidying up all the equipment I used earlier and I saw that my cake had hardened a little, I poured the white dough using a strainer, this is so that the flour that is still hardening does not get into the cake dough.
11. After all the dough is used up, then cover it again and steam it for about 30 minutes or you can poke it with a fork to check the cake's doneness.
12. After that, let the dough cool for a while and then remove it from the mold.
13. The chewy sweet potato cake is ready to be enjoyed.
In enjoying this cake you can smear it with grated coconut and the coconut is not too old, but you can also enjoy it like that because the cake already tastes sweet.
However you enjoy it, everything will taste delicious if eaten with loved ones. Greetings from Tomidiwirja, Indonesia
