Today I have a guest, she is my grandmother’s little sister. Or it can be called 'opung inong’ . She also includes my grandmother. She came to my house with her daughter. Her daughter is my aunt. she is still young and we also play together a lot. When they came, it was around 11:00 AM. Because while there is my grandmother's sister here who is very good at cooking. Be it heavy or light food. I asked my grandmother's sister to make me porridge bubur anak loba . Or you cloud say baby bee porridge. Quite rarely people know about this porridge . Only a few people know. On average, the majority of the Batak tribes know what is Anak Loba porridge. However, there are also those who say that this is a typical South Kalimantan baayak porridge. I know this is typical of North Sumatra. Maybe it's just a different name. It's pretty much all the same.
In the past, my late grandmother really liked to make this porridge, and this is also one of her favorite foods. She has a special mold to make this porridge. She made this anak loba porridge mold herself with coconut shells, then punched holes in it with a hot iron. Don't forget to scrape and clean the shell first before making the holes. Many say this is cendol porridge. Because of the manufacturing process and its shape like cendol.
My aunt and I prepared the materials and tools needed to make porridge for anak loba . Because my mother wants to make a large portion of this porridge so that it can be distributed to neighbors and family as well. So we prepared quite a lot of ingredients. You can estimate how much quantity you have to prepare for small portions. Come on, let's see how we make this anak loba porridge.
ingredients
- Rice flour 2kg
- 1 kg starch
- Coconut 6 pieces (which is taken coconut milk)
- Pandan leaves
- Sugar according to taste
- Brown sugar according to taste
- Water

- prepare cold water in a large container
how to make :
- Prepare a frying pan and place it on the stove. Then add clean water and turn on the stove over medium heat until it boils.
- After that, prepare a large container for making dough
- Add rice flour
- and starch
- Stir first
- Then, pour the water little by little
- Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and do so
- If the water is not enough, add it little by little.
- When the water is boiling, add the pandan, and reduce the heat of the stove.
- Take the mold, then put the dough in the mold, point it over the boiled water and press the dough until it comes out and falls from the mold.
- Do next
- If the dough has risen to the surface, take the dough apart and put it in a container that already contains cold water.
- Do so until all the dough runs out.
Next we will make the gravy for the anak loba porridge.
- After all the dough runs out, discard the cooking water and leave a little
- Don't forget to turn on the stove on medium heat
- Then, enter the coconut milk and don't forget to stir it up
- After about 10 minutes and the coconut milk is boiling
Add brown sugar slowly
Don't forget to keep stirring until everything is mixed
- Also add pandan leaves
- Also add sugar and don't forget to stir
- After everything is mixed
- Enter the dough that was made little by little. Don't forget to stir too.
- After everything has been added and mixed evenly. Keep stirring until the anak loba porridge boils.
- When it boils, turn off the stove and the anak loba porridge is ready to be served
